Carnival in Malta

Carnival in Malta, from the 1st till the 5th of March, is extremely popular with locals and foreigners alike. Most of the events happen in Valletta, Malta and Nadur, Gozo. Carnival enthusiasts work all year round to create incredible floats to entertain the public. It is also customary for children to dress up in their favourite carnival costume of the year and enjoy the festivities and events. On the other hand, the Nadur Carnival is mostly aimed at adults who like to party and have a good time.

St Patrick’s Day

The Feast of St Patrick’s is a cultural and religious celebration that is held on the 17th of March. Although it is an Irish public holiday, it is widely celebrated in Malta. Maltese love any excuse to drink beer! We know of a few good places to enjoy a pint of beer on the day. Cheeky Monkey is a place in which fun is obligatory and getting drunk is permitted! You’re bound to have the best time here! Penny Black Bar, located at AX The Victoria Hotel, is a traditional British pub in which you can enjoy a pint of Guinness at your leisure!

Experience Qawra

March is perfect for exploring the island since the weather is warm but not too hot. Qawra is great for sea views and walking alongside the promenade. If you’re brave enough and you’re not too scared of the cold sea, you can even take a dip in a sandy or rocky beach, located next to AX Seashells Resort at Suncrest, or in our inclusive hotel swimming pool. If you’re looking for a unique venue where fun is obligatory, you should check out Cheeky Monkey Gastropub. The newly-renovated Luzzu Restaurant or Tal-Kaptan are also an ideal place for lunch or dinner in Qawra.
